Eric is not only a professional business attorney, but he is also the founder and managing partner of Northwest Business Law LLC. One of his core beliefs is that we must make the most of life. Driven by this belief, he brings an intensity, focus, and purpose to everything he does, which is extremely valuable when you need to settle a business dispute. His goal is to successfully integrate all aspects of life: work, family, training, and concern for the welfare of others.

To be the best professional business lawyer he can be, Eric consistently searches for better ways to serve his clients. That means listening attentively to what each client needs, helping them focus their business objectives when necessary, and designing legal strategies to meet those business objectives. It also means keeping up with the latest in legal education and entrepreneurial strategies. Guiding his client’s toward successful outcomes was a driving force behind Eric’s founding of NW Business Law LLC.
Eric has been passionate about conservation his entire life. An ecology major at Cornell University, Eric focuses his pro bono efforts on protecting wildlife and wild places. He founded NW Business Law LLC to be an example of how to run a sustainable practice and hopes to inspire this in his clients.
Away from the office, Eric is a serial entrepreneur with interests in software applications and diverse creative opportunities, and he uses that perspective to help guide his clients. His training and competition as an Ironman® triathlete teach him powerful lessons in focus, discipline, tenacity, and breaking down complex situations into workable tasks.
All of these pursuits help Eric achieve a balanced and fulfilled life and success as a corporate attorney. From this position, his goal is to help design successful outcomes for all clients at NW Business Law LLC.
Meet Owner, Heather Helmy
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Northwest Business Law LLC, Heather has been instrumental in crafting the firm’s mission, business practices, and operational strategy. Her leadership and vision hold our business attorneys to our mission of delivering exceptional and personalized legal services in a way that benefits our community and is ecologically sustainable. The legal system can feel overwhelming to even the most astute business owner. It is Heather’s hope that NW Business Law Group’s better way of practicing law will leave clients confident and at ease.

Since 2005, Heather has served on the board of the Children’s Heart Foundation – Oregon Chapter, including a three-year term as president of the chapter. Her tenure as president saw an increase in fundraising for the Oregon chapter, allowing for significant contributions to vital medical research, as well as the growth of a dynamic and passionate board of directors. Heather represented the Oregon Chapter at the 2010 National Congenital Heart Lobby Day in Washington, DC. This effort increased awareness of congenital heart disease as the number one birth defect and cause of death in the first year of life, as well as gathered support for additional NIH research and surveillance through the CDC. Heather remains an active and committed board member, participating in national events and serving the Ironheart Racing Team as their Team Dietitian.
A Registered Dietitian by training, Heather is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition. In addition to her work as a clinical dietitian at Salem Hospital in Oregon, Heather was instrumental in the creation of the wellness program at the French American International School in Portland, Oregon. In 2011, Heather launched Eat Well Northwest, a consulting company offering personalized nutrition programs for optimal living. This practice brings together Heather’s passion for food and health, and serves to improve the wellbeing of our community. In between managing our business law firm and the nutrition practice, Heather enjoys raising her two sons, reading, Pilates, country music, walking, and cooking.
