Community involvement is one of our core values at Northwest Business Law Group. Through our practice, we strive to serve our community’s entrepreneurs and businesses, both emerging and established. However, not every business or individual that needs legal guidance is able to get the help they need. Recognizing a gap in the availability of legal services to small businesses, we are proud to partner with Mercy Corps Northwest to provide pro bono legal counseling to small business owners.
Mercy Corps Northwest is a nonprofit organization focused on increasing economic self-sufficiency and community integration through microenterprise development and self-employment for small business owners. Its clients typically start off with big ideas and small amounts of resources, but many have become well-recognized names in the local business community.
One day each month, one of our attorneys provides on-site legal counseling services for Mercy Corps Northwest clients. These clients seek advice on issues including entity formation and governance, contract reviews, intellectual property protection, and employment law. Although each session only lasts an hour, it is often enough for these clients to get the answers they need and the confidence to move forward knowing they have a solid legal foundation.
One of the reasons we love practicing in the Northwest is the vibrant communities we have the privilege of serving. We are proud to partner with organizations like Mercy Corps Northwest, which allow us to connect with our community and foster the next generation of great Northwest businesses.
